Computers allow product components to be designed quickly and efficiently in three dimensions. With 3D graphics software and techniques, those designs can be visualized with a high degree of realism, and even prepared for creation from scratch by rapid prototyping vendors for use as physical prototypes.
Polymer Component: Johnson & Johnson Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics was testing the dynamics of a stage in their medical analysis systems, which focused on the behavior of a polymer component. This image is similar to the type of image we made for them to demonstrate how we can visualize prototype components from drawings or early physical models (original image not shown for reasons of disclosure). Not only is the model useful for creating realistic visualizations, it can also be used in sophisticated physics simulations to analyze the behavior of mechanical systems.
