Products which are still in development can be fully visualized through 3D rendering. Prototypes may not have all the features of a final product, and changes to the design may alter the way a product looks. Such alterations can be made digitally in 3D and rendered to provide a realistic visualization of the product, before production starts or at the beginning of a marketing campaign.
Retractable MVR Blade: Trek Medical was developing a new surgical device and wanted to visualize the final product before it went into production. We had an early physical prototype, and drawings describing changes to be made to the design. The new features were modeled and a rendering was created showing the product with the blade retracted and extended, providing the engineers with a visual feedback on the proposed changes. Similar images were also used by marketing to promote the product's release.
